Environment and conditionality

Rotations, nitrates and protected areas under control

Conditionality rules checked field by field: rotations, nitrate vulnerable zones, manure nitrogen, Natura 2000 sites, and the season's carbon footprint.

Many rules depend on where the field is and what has been grown there over the years. Agronix already knows: from the boundary it recognises vulnerable zones and Natura 2000 sites, from each season's crops it checks the rotation, from the records and livestock it works out nitrogen. So the warning comes before the mistake, not after the inspection.

Rotations

Plan rotations with GAEC 7

A table with each field's crops in the two past seasons and the three to come. Agronix checks the rotation by botanical genus, the exemptions and diversification with the GAEC 7 rules, even when the same field has several crops.

  • Two past seasons and three planned
  • Check by botanical genus
  • Parts of the field with their area
Nitrates and livestock

Manure nitrogen against the limit

From the boundary Agronix works out how much of the field lies in a nitrate vulnerable zone, using regional data where available and the European Environment Agency elsewhere. With head of livestock by category and manure spread from the records it compares field nitrogen with 170 kg/ha in vulnerable zones and 340 outside.

  • Vulnerable zone recognised from the boundary
  • Livestock by category and season
  • Limits of Ministerial Decree 5046/2016
Natura 2000 and carbon

Protected areas and carbon footprint

If a field touches a Natura 2000 site, the field page and the crop protection prescription say so. Each field's and season's carbon footprint uses IPCC methods: nitrous oxide from fertilisers and residues, urea carbon dioxide, rice paddy methane with water management and diesel; what is left out is written on the page.

  • Warning on treatments in protected sites
  • Greenhouse gases by crop and per hectare
  • Coefficient sources with links

How it works

  1. 01

    Bring the boundaries

Vulnerable zones and Natura 2000 are recognised automatically.

  2. 02

    Enter the crops

Past and planned, in the rotation table.

  3. 03

    Add livestock

Head by category; manure comes from the records.

  4. 04

    Read the warnings

    Before seeding, fertilising or spraying.

In detail

GAEC 7
Rules from the Piedmont Region text and Ministerial Decree 147385/2023.
Vulnerable zones
Piedmont (2024 data), Lombardy (2019), other regions from EEA (to 2021); a manual mark wins.
Nitrogen
Manure table of Ministerial Decree 5046/2016; 170 kg/ha in vulnerable zones, 340 outside.
Carbon
IPCC Tier 1 (2006 and 2019 Refinement), 100-year warming potentials.
